British health care system work well for some

Americans spend a fortune on health care, if they need it and can afford it. Insurance premiums are through the roof and causing many businesses to reconsider employee coverage. I’ve never understood why we have a system set up that almost forces us to get health coverage through an employer. We don’t do that for auto or homeowners’ insurance, why would we do that for our health?

Everyone living in Britain pays three percent of their income into the National Health Service. CBS News reported on this American living in London who found it worked very well for her.

Seattle Post Intelligencer (Seattle PI) goes web only after printing last paper edition on Wednesday. The newspaper claims it will retain its former standards with a staff of 20, down from 150 for the print edition.

Obama takes on health care

I’d like to think a reasonable answer to the health care crisis would come out of Washington. What I expect is the government to issue better cans to put out on convenience store counters for people needing transplants and other serious care.
