Fans of the Hanshin Tigers baseball team threw a statue of Colonel Sanders into the Dotonbori River in Osaka, Japan, when they won their first Central League pennant in 1985. The break in the team’s long-lasting losing streak didn’t last long. Now fans are thrilled to have The Colonel returned — and have a renewed hope for another win.
